C. GARY BARNES

Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist

Gary Barnes is a licensed psychologist, specializing in marriage and family research, therapy, and training. He is also an ordained minister and a Professor of Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary, he served as an assistant pastor for seven years and then earned a Ph.D. in psychology at Columbia University. While in New York, he was a research project coordinator at NYU Medical Center's Family Studies Clinic. He later completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology through Parkland Hospital (Dallas) and the Child Guidance Clinics, followed by additional postdoctoral clinical training leading to certification as a Clinical Member of the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists.
