
JULIE FUTRELL, PhD
Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Futrell has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2015. She is licensed to practice psychology in Texas, California, and New York and holds the PsyPact credential, allowing her to provide telehealth services in 35 additional states. She began supervised training in forensic psychology in 2022, with a focus on family law and civil litigation. Dr. Futrell received a Master’s Degree in Health Education with a focus on women’s health from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. She then received her Master’s degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Duquesne University in 2014. As part of her training, she completed an internship in child and adolescent psychology at Nassau University Medical Center, with specialty rotations in hospital Consultation and Liaison and inpatient forensic psychology. After completing her training, Dr. Futrell provided cognitive assessments, capacity evaluations, and psychotherapy in skilled nursing facilities and supervised over 200 clinicians in her role as Clinical Director of Outpatient Services for a national behavioral health company. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Futrell has been an adjunct faculty member at several colleges, teaching psychology courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, crisis centers, palliative care, and community clinics. Dr. Futrell has been in private practice since 2016 and has extensive experience as a generalist practitioner working with both children and adults. Since 2022, Dr. Futrell has focused her time on forensic psychological evaluations, child custody evaluations, and expert witness testimony. She is an active member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts as well as the American Society of Trial Consultants. Her CV is available upon request.
